John Carton

John has grown with Parette Somjen Architects for over 26 of his 35-year professional career. For many years he has focused on public and educational projects and has extensive knowledge of the requirements and desires of all vested parties; students, professors, community leaders and representatives, administrators and facility managers. John has designed and administered construction projects as simple as roof repairs and door replacements and as complex as $42 million dollar campus renovation with additions projects.

 

As the director of technical staff at PSA, John has extensive experience in project management, construction documents, pre-construction services and construction contract administration, project coordination, construction cost estimating and technical construction. He is adept at working with diverse consultants, contractors, clients, attorneys and other vested parties. John excels at bringing projects through construction and has an 18-year history of over 95% of projects delivered on or below their construction budget.

 

John received a Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a member of the NJ Society of Architects (NJAIA) and a Board Member for the Rutherford Little League.
